Ste. 17

Ste.17 (pronounced Saint Seventeen) is an eclectic rock duo comprised of Alexandra Hope Aurum (music, lyrics, keyboards, vocals, bass guitars, drums) and Michael Ganic (guitars, engineering). Born from an "anything goes" attitude, the songs are in a range of rock styles, from hard rock and metal, to indie, gothic, and psychedelic.

Their debut EP Now as well as Then was released in 2019 and featured Portland-based rapper Only One on the track Cathrine's Wheel, as well as a bonus song collaboration with multi-instrumentalist folk musician Robert Alan Mackie.

Not wasting any time, they got to work on their first full length album, Into the Night, released in 2020, which was even more ambitious and featured numerous collaborators, including Kierston Graham with metal vocals on the title track, and flute group Trio Taco on Watercolour. The single Gone, in addition to featuring Alan Mackie on the fiddle, also received a lyric music video with a design by Nisga'a-Metis artist Chantelle Trainor-Matties.

Both albums are available on streaming services, and can be found on Bandcamp for pay-what-you-want at sainte17.bandcamp.com
